이것은 나의 머릿속이다. 우주 속으로 뻗어 나가는 생각들이다. 모든 생각들은 모여든다. 복잡한 에너지의 미로 속에서, 서로 교차하면서, 형언할 수 없을 만큼 아름답고, 믿을 수 없을 만큼 복잡하면서도, 끊임없이 변화하는 무늬를 이루면서 다른 생각들과 만난다. 생각 에너지는 영원히 죽지 않는다. 그것은 우리라는 존재와 머리를 벗어나 우주 속으로 영원히 퍼져 나간다. 영원히.

forming patterns that are indescribably beautiful,
unbelievably complex,
and constantly evolving as they encounter other thoughts.
Thought energy never dies.
It escapes beyond us, beyond our minds,

'Ecdysis’ 는 곤충의 탈피를 의미하지만, 동시에 이전의 정체성을 완전히 버리거나 새롭게 태어난다는 의미도 가지고 있다. 자기 표현이 강조되는 시대에 살아가면서, 나는 항상 다른 사람들에게 나의 진실된 모습이 아닌 가식적이고 왜곡된 모습만을 보여주려고만 했었다. 그러나 이 작업을 통해 진정한 나의 모습이란 왜곡되지 않은 자연스러운, 있는 그대로의 나라는 것을 깨달았다. 나 자신을 있는 그대로 받아들이고 탈피하는 순간, 과거에 다른 사람들에게 증명하려 했던 모든 이미지는 단지 폐허처럼 굳어지고, 의미가 없어져 버렸다. 그리하여 나는 마침내 고치를 벗어나 진정한 나의 모습과 정체성을 확립하며 조금 더 성장할 수 있었다. 밝고 화사한 파스텔 색조의 배경을 사용하여 나비의 탈피 개념으로 꿈같고 아름다운 분위기를 표현하고자 했고, 하단에는 개성이나 매력이 결여되고 색깔도 없는 과거의 나를 표현했다. 이는 특징도 색깔도 없는, 복원되지 못한 유물처럼 단단하고 닳아 없어져 가는 모습으로, 이제는 과거에 남겨진 나의 모습들이다. 마지막으로, 곤충 허물의 건조하고 주름진 느낌을 살리기 위해 거즈를 그을려 사용했다.

'Ecdysis' refers to the molting process of insects, but it also signifies completely shedding a previous identity or being reborn anew.

Living in an era where self-expression is emphasized, I often found myself showing others not my true self, but only a fabricated and distorted version of it. However, through this work, I realized that my authentic self is the unaltered, natural, and genuine me. The moment I accepted myself as I truly am and underwent a form of ecdysis, all the images I had once tried to prove to others solidified into meaningless ruins, losing their significance. Finally, I emerged from the cocoon, established my true self and identity, and grew a little further.

To convey the concept of a butterfly’s ecdysis, I used a bright and dreamy pastel-toned background to create a sense of beauty and fantasy. At the bottom of the composition, I represented my past self, lacking individuality or charm, devoid of color—akin to a relic that is rigid, eroded, and irrecoverable. This symbolizes the parts of myself left in the past. Lastly, to capture the dry and wrinkled texture of insect exuviae, I burned gauze fabric and incorporated it into the work.
